MIKAH IS HOME - YES HOME - MIKAH IS HOME - She has to go back daily for treatment and her creatine has risen so needs very careful monitoring but she was barking the place down when Lindzi went to see her this evening so they said You had better take her home or she is going to cause a riot here!!!!!!!!!! They decided it would be benificial now for her to be at home with Laz & Lindzi.  ;D

Hi Jeanna

I hope Mikah is doing well at home.  Have you (or Mikah's owner) thought about getting in touch with Beverley Cuddy of Dogs Today Magazine?  I'm sure Beverley will want to learn about Mikah's story.  You can say I mentioned it to you if you want.

Yesterday Mikahs creatine levels were still rising up to 202 - David said that although she could stay at home last night she had to return to the hospital this morning for treatment and further tests. He explained very carefully that if her creatine level rose any further or did not start to fall then they would have to consider that she may have chronic kidney damage in which case she would only have 9-12 months. This set us all in store for a very stressful night and a very nervous Lindzi took Mikah back to see David this morning. Well shock of shocks her creatinine levels have amazingly dropped to 112. So everything was done today and she is now home again and does not have to return to the hospital for further treatment until Tuesday. To say we are happy is the biggest understatement ever! I think there might be some bubbles on the cards tonight. Hope you had a Happy Birthday Annee we shall raise a glass to you too. Jeanna

Well Jeanna,
I have to say that this is just the very best news you could have given us.

What a huge relief this is and I am so very happy for Lindzi and Laz.

Please will you convey to then just how happy we all are that Mikah is doing so well now.

When Charlie gets her bloods checked I alwasy get the earliest appointment I can and before she has any food as otherwise her urea and creatinine are higher. I wonder if the tests were done at different times ? Anyhow, I will certainly raise a glass or two in honour of Mikah, the brave young pup who deserves the very best life ahead.
