Hi Elisabeth

I hope you are continuing to recover from your operation.  I just wanted to say stay safe in Egypt.  I have heard there is more unrest there at the moment.

Look after yourself and your family and dogs.

Dear Elisabeth

I don't know if you are able to log on  but I do hope you and your family and dogs are ok.  News of the troubles in Egypt are reaching the rest of the world and I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and hope peace will be resolved very soon.

Dear Jo, I have been trying to log on to CIMDA but thenpost does not get being placed..so I give itone more try.
Thank you so much , it is so good to know people who care as much as you do..
Yes we are going throughntroublesome times, millions were in the streets on June 30 to overthrow a fascist repressive regime of  ignorant fanatics who know only one language and thatbis violence.
Now things are calming down somewhat with hopefully a new government in place soon, but the atmosphere is still very volatile and tense.
We are lucky to live in a house with garden near the Pyramids comparatively far from the locations where clashes occur, we are safe thanks God and hope the Islamists will not escalate the situation more than they already did.
I am happy to stay home , my pack keeps me wonderful company, Cecil with theseniors and we had a sweet guest dog, a gentle giant Mastiff, who gave lessons to Cecil in good behaviour and  obedience. Please Egypt in ypur thoughts, the country needs all possible support for the future, unfortunately the media give a very wrong picture of what is going on sometimes ..it is a popular revolution not a military coup.

Sending hugs and wags your way
Elisabeth

Hi Elisabeth,

I too have you and your family in my thoughts.

I'm glad to hear that you are not amongst it all and have distance between you.

Let's hope there is a new government in place very soon and the hatred dies down without more loss of life.

Hugs to you all

It's so good to hear from you Elisabeth and to know you are all ok.  It must be very worrying but thankfully you are not in the troubled parts and you are safe.

I do hope they sort out this problem soon and bring some stability to the country. The good people deserve to live a normal life without fear. It is always hard to know if the stories are true.  Thank you for giving us the correct picture.

Stay safe all of you.

Hi Elisabeth...so good to see you back on CIMDA. Your presence was missed. Thanks for letting us know how things are in Egypt. We all are following the activity there.
I tried posting to you one day under this thread, but like you, my post would not be accepted. This has happened to me several times. Just one of those internet things maybe.
Glad to hear the pack is also well!

Thank you all for your good thoughts..
We  certainly have rough times ahead but everybody is positive  and hopeful about the future for Egypt...a lot of work has to be done ..the Islamists try to boycott every constructive step the revolutionary youth and the presidency are taking to consolidate the country and they refuse any reconciliatory step and try to bring the country closer to civil war. But the people will overcome and longterm they cannot impose their fascist agenda of ignorance and religious terror on Egyptians!
Egyptians know they will have to rely on themselves, and Western governments including the US are slowly waking up in support. It is very ironic that the West is  leading a war against terror that everybody traVelling is part of when being checked by security in airports worlwide and on the other hand they backed a regime that uses Islamist terror groups including Al Quaida affiliates to stay in power . And still they are very reluctant to show support defaming the popular uprising as a miltary coup and not taking a clear position against islamist terror and fascism.

I feel I am turning CIMDA into a political forum...but I am too happy to answer any questions about Egypt.
With the revolution and more progress and a higher living standard ahead , hopefully animal rights will started to be discussed as well and veterinary services improved. For the time being we are still fighting for basic human rights to be respected.
Hugs to everyone

Our thoughts are with you Elisabeth and I truly empathise.  I feel so sorry for the 'average' good person who is unabale to lead a normal life.  I hope you get the support you need to bring stability and all the other normal things in life, like human and animal rights and good veterinary treatment that we, in other parts of the world, take for granted.

Keep in touch and take care.

Thank you Penel, Angela and everybody for keeping us in your thoughts. Things are getting tougher in Egypt nowadays but the Egyptian people are determined to not surrender to fanatics and radicals who monger civil war.
We are safe and at a distance from dangerous locations but unhappy that the overall security situation has not improved because Islamists spread their terror as much as they can.
I am happy to be able to go to Austria for a holiday in mid August. I will take Cecil with me and started training herto go into her flight box. It is only a three hour flight and I am sure she will cope well. She will be getting obedience classes  there and I am sure she will enjoy the cool of woods and meadows in Austria as much as I will. My pack have helped me a lot enjoying a normal life inspite of all the bad news around us. Things would have been much more stressful without them besides I feel very safe with Ceci
Always in protection mode. Hope all of you are well.
Sending you hugs and wags
