Good to hear he is enjoying life and not in distress now.

Hi,
He had last blood work done on 7/30 along with a bile blood test.  I was convinced he was getting better.  Not the case, numbers just about doubled.  Homeopathic vet described them as simply awful numbers.  He has now started Urosdial this week along with probiotics.  His diet is white fish, sweet potato, kale and for lunch chicken, white rice and kale.  Blood work to be repeated in 11 days.  After review of numbers mid-August, vet would like to get more green veggies in him.  I am sure the meds he has been on over the years could be causing the failure, but at least he is still with us.  He will be 12 on August 17 which is pretty remarkable.  He is still getting the Milk Thistle twice a day too.  Good news is that he is eating heartily, keeping it down, does not act sick and enjoying daily golf cart rides!

Hi Cherryl

Have you thought about juicing his veggies? Juicing has incredible benefits.  I used to do it for one of my dogs with cancer.  For him I used to juice carrot, apple and cabbage/broccoli,  but juicing appropriate veg for Paco wouldn't be a problem and you can syringe it gently at the side of his mouth.

Liver enzymes have gone down over 1,000 points since last test...still elevated, but at least we seem to be going in the right direction!  Vet recommended continuing same program and retest the end of September.

Dear CIMBA friends,
Paco, our Lakeland Terrier, went over the bridge yesterday.  His bile liver numbers were off the charts and it was time to let him go.  As many of you may remember, he was diagnosed with SLE at 3-1/2.  He was an excellent example that it is possible to survive a good life with an autoimmune disease.  Thank you to everyone who has helped us over the years.  He was 12 in August.

Cherryl,
I'm sorry to read your news today. You and Paco put up the good fight. Thank you for letting us know. He was such a grand little fellow who inspired so many to keep trying.

Thinking of you today and in the days ahead, as you adjust to your loss.

Oh Cherryl, I am so sorry to hear about your Paco.  He did incredibly well to live for all those years with SLE, but he couldn't have done it without you Cherryl.  It gives us all so much hope.

Paco was one of the early CIMDA dogs. His memory lives on with us too.

Run free Paco
