Thanks gail
Oh im.glad your girl never ate those chicken bones!!
Yes I feel so unlucky
My first dog and got her 16 months ago and boy we have been through several tough wars
Just now shes doing a gagging noise 4 times as if something stick in throat
And she had diareah today
Am.scared some damage done
Definate acid problems
Gave gastritis ant acid homeopathy, probiotic prebiotic( synbiotic dc capsules) yogurt and slippery.elm powder
My poor girl shes such a lovely girl
It hurts me when shes uncomfortable
I was never able to have kids
Been unlucky in love so dont bother
So I get so close to my animal
Had my cat karma 19 years adored her
She was ill for 12 years kidney disease colitis then heart then cancer at the end
But she adored me too
I got holly 3 months after karma died
I wanted a well animal
And a month later bam ...found out mitral valve
Then 2 month later collapse immune disease
And colitis
This year she not been good kennel cough then.fever immune system no good then eat raisins
Its heartbraking
I needed a well dog after nursing karma so long with her kidneys n colitis
But you know
I think holly was meant to be mine
And me her
When we look at each other ,really look ,theres a lot of love
But being a larger than life springer personality
It would be hard to be without her
I know just 16 months together but she has a huge presence
I am feeling down and depressed with the shock of this week
She means a huge amount to me
And its horrid that my own block of flats feels potentially very dangerous
Im unhappy I have to look everywhere like a mad woman before she goes down the stairs
Unsettling
Thanks yes fingers crossed she gets better
I really love her and it scares me the thought of her just going like that..:-(
But im glad she is home !:-)

Christina,
I do understand how you can be so in love with a sick dog. It was like that for me and Lola for so many years. I suppose it's the glue of this group too.

Yes,
You are so right gail
I am totally in love with holly I look at her wee face and my heart literally melts!
Yes we all here work so hard to help our loved canines
My friend said I shouldnt get so attatched to a sick animal
That her life expectancy not good with heart disease and immune disease also
But after a month of having her I was alreAdy smitten!!
Such large personalities that they have!
AW,dont you have Lola anymore?
Is your story on here gail?

I had to let her go. Feb. 4th. You can see my post in the Loving Memory section. I suppose when you see and study your sick dog everyday there is a chance that you can miss something because you look so closely. The other day I came across some pictures of Lola on my computer which I took last winter. In one I could clearly see that Lola had a headache. She had very bad sinus congestion. But she never complained about her conditions. Her ataxia was very advanced too.

I will forever miss Lola. But I know it was best to say good-bye when we did.

Hi there
Today we went into the close and I found two raisins grabbed them up quickly and then saw holly sniff the neighbours baby buggy
I shouted to her to stop
And saw a opened pack of raisins
I DONT think holly ate any so I didnt rush to vet
But I am anxious incase she snorted one up and I didnt realise
It only a,month since the same people left raisins and holly ate some and was on a drip for her kidneys all night
I told these people yet they DONT give a damn
Im so upset and angry
Its the 3 rd time in a month raisins there outside my door
They disgust me with their uncaring
I figured since I didnt see holly eat any just t see how she is
She ate ok and pee ok
Her tum a bit sore justnow and she feels a bit sick
But she has been feeling like that at night anyway since being of her antibiotics
I hope I made the right decision as never saw her eat any
Oh god I hope she,is ok
I feel like moving home with people here not caring about my dog
Its,sickening
She goes through enough as it is x

That is certainly showing lack of concern for others. You did speak with them?  I wonder if Holly would wear a basket muzzle just until you get her past where there may be raisins? She may tolerate it well for just a small time and then you could remove it. Just a thought since obviously your neighbors are not going to care about it.

I hope Holly is OK.

Thanks,gail
Yes,i was thinking about a,muzzle too
But meanwhile we CANT leave the flat without me checking everywhere immediately before we do
I need to be so vigilent
I told these people but they DONT care
So I know than now
I hope she will be ok re raisins I hope she poorly because no antibiotics
We are back at vet Tuesday but if she is,sick or diareah I will take her in before that:-(

Jo CIMDA

Hi Christina

If Holly didn't eat the raisins then she will be fine.  A muzzle is a good idea if only to use at the time of leaving and entering your flats.

Jo

christina

Thanks Jo
I phoned vet and she said it too late to do anything now if she did eat them
When the last time when she ate them the vet said 48 hr window,to flush kidneys incase of shutdown
This vet didnt say that presumably because im not sure if she managed to eat any
But tonight she feels sick had diareah
I made apointment for Tuesday for vet
But may go tomorrow if still like this
Her gums very pale
Im worried sick
Of course if I seen her eat any yesterdays I would have taken her to the vet
I hope to god she will be ok :-(

During the night holly started really gagging and coughing
Iv bern up most of the night with her
Im worried as she seems to be fevery, sore abdomen, pale gums and now the cough
Im wondering if..
Is it kennel cough again?
Or is it her heart disease deteriating
Is it to so with the kidneys?
Though insure if ate raisins or not as didnt see her do it
Is,her immune mediated disease gerting bad again?
Im so stressed out and worried for her
Wish I had taken her to vet Saturday after seen.her sniff raisin packet
But because I didnt actualy see her eat any I didnt want to put her through procedures
That unpleasant that she doesnt need
Poor holly x
