Hi used to post on the site before it changed. Poppy is my springer spaniel she will be 5 in feb. She has IMTP she is on low does of pred 10mg a day. She had her 6 month check and they could not get a level of the platelets due to the being a clot.Has anyone else had experience of this? They are doing another test on thurs as the vet would really like the levels. I am concerned though as she is starting to look old sometimes she seems to walk as if her legs are stiff and she has taken to lying down a lot which is fine but she doesnt get upto greet you which is very unusual. Any help or advice would be much appreciated thank you.

10mg a day isn't a low dose for a springer, I think you need to reduce the meds to 7,5mg a day and see if that's ok for a few weeks, then down to 5mg a day.  Talk to the vet about it - but 10mg a day is not a low dose.... she could be suffering from Iatrogenic cushings - side effect of long term steroid use.
