I don't know if this link will work. It is a part of an interview I did a local news station, WQOW, of my artwork. I think the entire thing which is long will be on the website.
I thought some of you who have known me for years may like to see it, if it works.

Gail - I've just watched it - wow it's really great, very well done.  i'm sure you will get loads of commissions from that.  The sock stuffies are lovely, and your art is amazing.  Particularly like the boston terrier paintings.

one of my great friends is an artist I wonder if you've seen her work.

we're planning on a project together with my photography and Elle's drawings.  I recently did a shoot with some horses on a beach, I haven't written up my blog on it yet but there are some images on my facebook page.  It was an incredible experience.

Hi Gail

How lovely to meet you at last.  Or at least I feel as if I have met you now I have seen your interview.  I love your work.  I love your soft toys.   We have a good art gene running through my family but it bypassed me unfortunately, but I love being creative, although not to professional standard and when the children were young I made numerous soft toys for them and their school fetes, so now you know why I got so much pleasure from seeing you with all your arty work.  Rarely do we get to find out what else is behind the person, so thank you for sharing.

I hope Lola is ok at the moment.

Thank you Jo. The soft stuffies came about when I became a grandmother. My son moved his family to Australia so I don't get to see them anymore. I make every one of them for my grandaughter, even though she will not see most of them. I have made more than 300 now. Paintings are my real passion though and I just finished my current commission of a tabby and a fluffy little dog. Turned out quite well. Next is a chocolate lab who is now gone over the bridge.

Lola remains the same. She has a couple of good days about once in a month, then she relapses back to her severe congestion. She needs help with all things because of the ataxia. We love her so much and I am committed to helping her live, as long as she wants to go on. I have rehearsed the end long enough that now I think I can finally let go of it. She is staying until she is ready, however she communicates that to me. I need to be certain, I know that now. Before, I thought I could just let her go somehow, that I could make the decision ahead of a crisis. Now, I'm not sure what in the world I was thinking then...it has to be her decision and we have a good dialog between the two of us. So I am trusting her now to tell me.

I could never imagine this sort of life with a dog. But it is easier when you let go of thinking you can make decisions which are not yours to make :) If I could figure out the picture thing on this new site I would post some of Lola I took last night. I'll try to do that.
Thanks Jo!

You are so right Gail.  Lola will let you know when the time comes.  I hope it will be a long while yet.

Jo

PS.  Perhaps making toys for your granddaughter makes you feel closer to her - that can't be bad.

Hi gail, i want to send a big hug to your wonderful lola..and i want to open the link you posted to see your art work. Clicking on the highlighted link does not work, is there any other way i can open it? Elisabeth

gschellinger

My son made a youtube video of the interview on the newscast.

Perhaps that will work.

The other has been removed from the news channel's website.

Thanks for sending your love to Lola. She seems to be cycling faster through her nasal congestion, and her coughing. Not sure what is going on. So hard to tell. But she is holding her own for now. She is a very stoic and brave (I want to say person) dog. I love her so much.

Sending hugs your way...

Hi Gail, I just came across the Youtube video that shows your art work, especially the very funny sock animals you do. Do you think you can make me a very funny one and ship it to my son who studies in NYU, tell me please how much it is and if you can do it. I will give it to my daugther who studies in Paris. Love Elisabeth

gschellinger

Elisabeth, yes. I can and will do that. What sort of characteristics would be good. Some have big heads, long noses, pointy heads, round heads, hair, no hair. Some are floppy some have more "backbone" I can put quotes or words on the belly. Any color which you would prefer? Let me know, will be happy to ship it there :)
