New member My dog has NME
« on: October 29, 2019, 08:28:30 PM »

Hi My tiny Chihuahua Roy has just been diagnosed with NME he is currently hospitalised and has been started on steriods and today chemo I'm not sure what the drugs are yet as I've not been back to see him and only had brief conversations with the consultant..Roy is responding to the steriods but this whole thing is terrifying for me.

I do not know much about Necrotizing meningoencephalitis, but here is a link that may help:

Hi Paula

I am sorry Roy has NME.  It can be a slow treatment process but there are dogs on this forum who have come through and achieved remission, so keep positive for Roy.

The link that Catherine has posted is very informative.

I hope when you see Roy next time he will be much brighter.  He will be so pleased to see you, that in itself will make him feel so happy.

All the best

Hi Paula

Look up Keeper's notes on the forum.  He has done really will with GME.
