>>>>She is currently on 10 x 5mg tablets of Prednisolone twice daily<<<<

Is this correct, Ian, or did you mean DAILY? I do not know how much Jenna weighs but 100mg of Preds. a day is much too high and can cause serious problems.

>>>>but because of Jo and the information here I persisted ( i think that is the polite word for it )<<<<

Well done! Unfortunately you will probably have to "persist" several more times whilst getting Jenna better. I had to do that when my Beardie became very ill with AIHA.

Whilst she is very anaemic it is best to not take her for a walk, try and conserve her energy and also have regular blood tests to keep an eye on the HCT (PCV).

I would be anxious too. I know the PCV can vary a little when having blood tests every few days but it is worrying when it does not keep going up.

It is very difficult to make much comment, Jo, as there is so much I do not know. For instance how much Preds. is Marni having daily? She needs to be on the correct amount but not too much that it can cause more problems. Also is she having a gastroprotectant?

How is Marni in herself?

When is the next blood test? A weekly biochemistry blood test will help keep an eye on how her liver, kidneys etc. are doing.

Has the vet ruled out other causes?

Hope the next test result is more hopeful.

Meanwhile, Jacqui could you try just to e-mail them to me and work out how to get them on the site later? Thanks.

Jacqui, is it possible for you to post some photos of the bumps and sores please? Someone might recognise the problem.
