Hello everyone, it's been a while and His Lordship Aka "Keeper" has been ok with his GME, he had  his 3rd pancreatitis attack in February followed by the diagnosis on diabetes in March, it's now September and he's still romping around the wood chasing squirrels!

It's been a while and all was going well! Sunday a swift visit to the out of hours vet on our morning walk he's stops dead in his tracks his leg is hurt, to cut a long sorry short the vet and I thought his focal GME had come back, referred back to Andersonmoore and this morning we arrived it's not his GME thankfully but they think it could be Polyarthritis he's been lame on the back left leg on and off and now lame on the front right leg or its a disc in his neck..

He's so special that he can't decide what's wrong and is really not happy in himself we have been give Metacam and short walks on a harness and to call back in 2 weeks, basically I'm ask for more info on Polyarthritis?

Hi Jo,

It's been ages since my last report, His Lordship aka Keeper the crazy cocker spaniel, is doing so well off all meds since December and enjoying life to the full, he's been showing off his hunting skills and hunting squirrels X

Hi Jo,

What a star I have, Keeper finally came off his meds 21 December and is doing well, his neurologist is so pleased with his recovery and he has a sister a whippet called Bella. She came home in October and gosh it has bought him such happiness, they are thick as thieves...

I call them my odd couple

Best wishes,

Louise

Hi Jo,

All systems go he's been on 2.5 per day and back next Thursday to Andersonmoore for another drop to every other day, he's a real fighter unfortunately 4 weeks ago he had another bout of Pancreatitis 3 nights in hospital!

He's no not allowed any fat probably my fault as I didn't really understand Pancreatitis which I do now..

All I can say is he's a naughty ,funny and bouncy cocker spaniel who has used up 3 life's so far and given my to many grey hairs...

Hi everyone,

My clever cocker spaniel Keeper has  Focial GME and has been in remission for 6 weeks, today we went back to Andersonmoore Specialist for his 6 week check up and it's good news!

His steroids have been reduced to 2.5 per day for 7 weeks and back for another check up, I'm over the moon and he such a good boy

Keeper update, it's been a week now on 5mg of steroids and OMG he's a different boy.

It's made me think and look back as to why they start on a high dose of steroids.

It made him sleepy which allowed to sleep and get better but I didn't let him thinking it was wrong but as we have reduced the dose he's going and got back to his old self,  he's a 20 month cocker spaniel happily chasing and sniffing out animals in the woods and staying up late!

Tomorrow morning treat beach walk X

Happy days my dear Keeper is now in remission and dropping his steroids 5 mg per day for 6 weeks then back to Andersonmoore for another check up.

His diagnoses is probably Focial GME, he's almost back to his old self being a cocker spaniel his nose is near fully back in action tonight we went squirrel hunting lol

Hi, my lovely boy has had 3 chemotherapy treatments and has had no side effects apart from his hair is not growing back. According to the advice given nobody has suggested it as a side effect.

I'm not worried just interested if anyone has experience the same thing.

Hi Jo,

Keeper is doing really well bombing around the woods and beach, today we stopped cyclosporine he remains on 10 mg of Prednisolone till we go back to Andersonmoore for his 3rd chemo treatment end of May.

I have to say your forum is brilliant along with your advice

Thank you so much

My dear Keeper, having been given the diagnoses of MUO at the age of 16 months and shed loads of tablets has had ups and a few downs.. but this weekend has had a lovely time. Friday a lovely walk in the woods followed by a road trip in a horsebox to a Dressage event, ok it was raining so he was left in charge of keeping the lorry safe he's a good guard dog!

A lovely beach walk Saturday morning followed by an evening swim in a lovely 28 degree pool

Easter Sunday a wonder around Crissbury Ring & another Dressage event.. this time he came out and watched the horses do there stuff..

Tomorrow I'm working & it's going to rain all day, so my guess he's going to have a duvet day! Lol

My diagnoses with something doesn't mean we can't have a lovely Easter weekend,

The vet specialist called today to deliver the results, it's AI to upping the steroids and going on cyclosporine, my poor boy is just 17 months old but a little fighter
