Hello All

I have a question for anyone with an epiletic dog. Is there a specific group—if so could I have an addy. I have a distraught client I will add what she sent to me and if anyone can throw any light we would be grateful. A specific group would prob be the answer for her.

She is not completely happy with Vet asistance at mo and could do with input from anyone who has similar experience.

Email to me, it was in answer to what meds she had her dog on;-

""Luminaletas (15mg) 3 a day ....one and half morning and evening
Valdispert (45mg) 1 in the morning

Over the last two weeks she has also had 1 Epilease at night ( with a liquid for her stomach 15 mins prior)   but she has not been very good, having 4 fits in two weeks!!!! So I have not stopped them again ... we did try them around a year ago and the same thing happened but the vet thought that perhaps we should try again.

She is a small Podengo weighing around 6kg and normally has so much energy ... running and playing with all our other dogs and any visitors!!!!!""

Thankyou to all.

Hello All

Merlin my PWD with MMM is now down to 2.5mg Pred morn and evening. He started all this the last week of January. So we are nigh on 6 months down the line.

Is he better? Well the jury is out methinks. His eyes are still very bad and we bathe them and add his gel twice a day. He is also hypothyroid so is on those meds as well. He has lost so much coat that last weekend at a big dog show we had organised someone came up and asked if he was a Border Collie and no one believed Cleo 'with all her coat' was his Sister. Its sad. Still no muscle on head--obviously made worse by the lack of fur.

But positives, he can open mouth, eat, bark, play, he has his fun eyes back, he is happy, he has a quality of life. People have told me to PTS as not fair to keep him alive--------------but he is happy. Yes he is no longer a show dog and would be laughed out of the ring (as I often am when my calcium is low) BUT Merlin is happy at home with all his family. He came to the show but was happier in his cage out of the way of people. he is quieter than was.
